There are several people here in Sun Lakes who volunteer as tutors with Experience Corps in  the Tempe public schools.  This program assists first, second and third graders in improving their reading ability and comprehension. 

 

In the past Barnes & Noble would contribute books twice a year, during the holidays and at the school year end, to provide reading material for the students to read when on vacation.  This year Barnes & Noble has chosen not to extend this program.

 

Experience Corps and the Tempe schools are looking for donations to continue this program this holiday season and throughout the school year.  If you are looking for a beneficial program to donate to we believe this is just such an excellent program.  Donations may be made to the “City of Tempe Experience Corps Program” mailing address:
