“Stay in the Loop”

General Manager’s Message 9/1

Each day we are made well aware of the state of the economy and the impact it has upon community associations. I came across just such an article this weekend that spoke to troubles many of the 9000-plus Arizona homeowner associations are having.  Looking further, I began a search of like articles and the same news is reported throughout the country as declining real estate values and unemployment continue to be significant factors. One of the articles mentioned a few local communities. I personally drove through these communities and I was saddened by what I saw: rows of vacant distressed homes, yards covered with weeds, and closed community amenities.  Many of our fellow Arizona communities are feeling financial burdens due to loss of assessment revenues.

Each day during my rounds, I hear a smiling voice answering the phone with “It’s a beautiful day in Sun Lakes!”…and it is. Your IronOaks Association is strong financially through actions taken by the Board and the vast number of your fellow homeowners who unselfishly volunteer untold hours of their time to keep the community strong and viable.  Have we felt some effect of current economic conditions? Yes, but the impact has been very slight and responsibly anticipated.

Your IronOaks Association has a strong Reserve Fund with diligent oversight, controls, operational procedures that constantly maintain a strong bottom line, a policy that provides all homeowners equal access to all association financial statements, association documents that exceed State and Federal requirements, and a goal of continuous communications.

We are striving to improve communications on all fronts, as you have seen with additional weekly communications from Golf, Fitness and Tennis as well as additional brief “Stay in the Loop” messages. We are also working to keep an up-to-date calendar posted of all Association Standing and Ad Hoc Committee meetings which are open for your attendance. Meeting dates and times are subject to change.

It is a beautiful day in Sun Lakes. With your help and support; it will continue to be a community that we are all proud to be a part of.

Warm regards,

Randy
